Location & History
Roxburgh Park Primary School (with an initial population of approx' 180 students), was established in 2002. It is situated in the suburb of Roxburgh Park, Victoria approximately 20km from the City of Melbourne. The school serves an outer suburban residential area of diverse cultures and socio economic backgrounds. Over the years, the school has maintained a strong sense of community and has developed close ties with neighbouring schools and organisations.
It is well situated and has a range of excellent facilities. The school now has an enrolment of approximately 470 children.
At Roxburgh Park Primary School a challenging and high quality curriculum is offered. Emphasis is placed on:
- Developing children's confidence and self-esteem
- Encouraging home and school interaction
- Developing literacy and numeracy skills.

Our school zone
Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.
The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy. to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.

The physical environment of the school currently includes a Digital Technologies and Library, Art room, Multi - purpose room and a full sized Gymnasium, basketball courts, play equipment, Music room and a Canteen. The environment is enhanced by developing native gardens and high quality, attractive playground equipment.
Teaching & Learning
The curriculum is based on the Victorian Curriculum and includes English, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Health and Physical Education, Humanities, The Arts, InterPersonal Development . An emphasis is placed on developing and maintaining a culture of excellence, creativity and the notion of learning to learn.
Teachers are hardworking and enthusiastic with a willingness to undertake extensive professional development. Teachers aim to be innovative in their teaching practice in order to maximise student learning.
Parents & Community Involvement
Roxburgh Park Primary School's policies and programs reflect the local communities' needs. Children are grouped into straight grades, with each group including children with a wide range of abilities and interests. Parent involvement is a vital part of our program and parents are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities including reading, library, excursions, sports and many other activities related to specific events and activities. The school personnel co-operate closely with neighbouring schools and preschools.
An active School Council is continually working with staff and the school community to further improve school facilities and the learning environment.
Bring Your Own Device Program
The ‘BYOD Program’ gives students in Year 4 and Year 5 the opportunity to purchase or lease their own personal laptop to use at school and take home every day over the next three years for Grade 4 and two years for Grade 5 at Roxburgh Park Primary School.
Students who take up the program will be able to take their laptop home every night and bring it to school each day.
We are actively involved in transition programs for Years 6 - 7 and Kindergarten to Prep.

SWPBS is a framework, that is prevention oriented that supports the needs and culture of our school by assisting the whole community in adopting and organising evidence-based behavioural interventions into an integrated continuum that enhances academic and social behaviour outcomes for all students.
SWPB is a broad range of systemic and individualised strategies for achieving important social and learning outcomes in schools while preventing problem behaviour.
We recognise that all students learn at different rates and in different ways. The curriculum is designed to allow children to reach their full potential and to give them the skills necessary to continue lifelong learning.
